Urban Regeneration Interventions in the Municipality of Fyli – Phase II
Information
Purpose of the project:
The Operation “Urban Regeneration Interventions in the Municipality of Fyli – Phase II” aims to upgrade the residential environment with modern, sustainable innovations that have not been sufficiently applied in the area to date.
The intervention introduces a smart remote-control and monitoring irrigation system, which reduces water consumption and operating costs while enabling automated scheduling based on soil moisture sensors, smart city pilot applications such as a microclimate station, air quality sensors, smart benches with Wi-Fi and photovoltaic canopies, and retractable vertical waste compaction systems for underground storage of large volumes with reduced bulk.
The Operation substantially contributes to sustainable urban upgrading, the reduction of the environmental footprint, and the creation of a more functional, modern, and user-friendly public space for the residents of the Municipality of Fyli.
Summary Description:
The Operation concerns the urban regeneration of the historic centre of Ano Liosia, with interventions on selected streets for the functional, environmental, and aesthetic upgrading of the area. The objective is to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors, with special provision for persons with reduced mobility.
The regeneration addresses the significant environmental burden and the degradation of the urban fabric, enhancing sustainability, ecological balance, and the restructuring of an area in need of substantial upgrading. It is an intervention aimed at creating a high-quality, functional, and user-friendly urban environment.
